Changing careers at 13 years into a job, is it realistic? - any advice?

I want to move from customer-service rep to something with more stability. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Did you take a pay cut?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
