Changing careers at 13 years into a job, is it realistic? after 13 years as a forklift operator

My layoff made me rethink whether to stay in my field. It has been a long 25 weeks. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
