Changing careers at 12 years into a job, is it realistic? - what worked for you?

After 12 years as a nurse's aide I am thinking about moving into a different field. It has been a long 7 weeks. My family is supportive but nervous.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
