Changing careers at 10 years into a job, is it realistic? - first time posting

After 10 years as a software tester I am thinking about moving into a different field. Thank you in advance. My family is supportive but nervous. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 2 months.
