Career change after a layoff, where to begin?, welding apprentice here

Aditi Rasmussen · 2026-08-07T18:54:12.812Z

I want to move from welding apprentice to something with more stability. There are 15 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 3 months.
