Career change after a layoff, where to begin? (update)

Anya Okonkwo · 2026-05-22T12:50:36.024Z

I want to move from hotel front-desk agent to something with more stability. I worked as a hotel front-desk agent before this. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. How did you start?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 12 months.
