Career change after a layoff, where to begin? (update)

Carlos Nakamura · 2026-05-12T03:03:22.606Z

My layoff made me rethink whether to stay in my field. I am in Tampa, in case local advice matters. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 6 months.
