Career change after a layoff, where to begin?, social media manager here

After 7 years as a social media manager I am thinking about moving into a different field. My family is supportive but nervous. How did you start?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
