Career change after a layoff, where to begin? - first time posting

After 11 years as a call-centre agent I am thinking about moving into a different field. Any experience at all would help. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. How did you start?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
