Career change after a layoff, where to begin?, event coordinator here

After 6 years as an event coordinator I am thinking about moving into a different field. I have a little time and a small budget for training. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 11 months.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
