Career change after a layoff, where to begin? - any advice?

Diego Andersson · 2026-08-16T15:31:58.229Z

After 10 years as a data-entry clerk I am thinking about moving into a different field. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 13 months.
