Career change after a layoff, where to begin? after 4 years as a warehouse supervisor

I want to move from warehouse supervisor to something with more stability. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Try a small project in the new field before committing. It told me a lot about whether I would enjoy it.
