Career change after a layoff, where to begin?

Idris Whitfield · 2026-07-03T11:48:43.755Z

After 7 years as a teaching assistant I am thinking about moving into a different field. Any experience at all would help. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

I took a small pay cut for a year, and it was worth it for the growth afterwards.
