Career change after a layoff, where to begin?

Sofia Silva · 2026-07-16T13:44:39.943Z

I want to move from accountant to something with more stability. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Has anyone made a similar move?

I began with informational chats, then a short online course, then a related entry-level role. It took about 14 months.
