Career change after a layoff, where to begin? - 13 months and counting

After 9 years as a janitorial supervisor I am thinking about moving into a different field. I worked as a janitorial supervisor before this. I have good customer skills and I am comfortable with spreadsheets. Did you take a pay cut?
