Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - what worked for you?

A local college offers a course that costs $600. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
