Are certifications worth it while job hunting? (update)

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a home health aide. It has been a long 24 weeks. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
