Are certifications worth it while job hunting? (update)

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a nurse's aide. I am in Kansas City, in case local advice matters. I would like to use funding if possible. Is there free funding?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
