Are certifications worth it while job hunting? (update)

A local college offers a course that costs $200. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to use funding if possible.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
