Are certifications worth it while job hunting? (Tucson)

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as an accounts payable clerk. I worked as an accounts payable clerk before this. I can study evenings.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
