Are certifications worth it while job hunting? (St. Louis)

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
