Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, security officer here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a security officer. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure whether employers value it. Which ones are overrated?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
