Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, school bus driver here

A local college offers a course that costs $550. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I can study evenings. Did a certificate help you get hired?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
