Are certifications worth it while job hunting? (Raleigh)

A local college offers a course that costs $950. It has been a long 18 weeks. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
