Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, IT help-desk technician here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as an IT help-desk technician. I worked as an IT help-desk technician before this. I am unsure whether employers value it.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 10 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
