Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, HR coordinator here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as an HR coordinator. Any experience at all would help. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
