Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, home health aide here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a home health aide. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
