Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - first time posting

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a procurement assistant. I worked as a procurement assistant before this. I am unsure whether employers value it. Is there free funding?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
