Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, data-entry clerk here

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a data-entry clerk. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure whether employers value it.

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
