Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - any advice?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a marketing coordinator. I worked as a marketing coordinator before this. I can study evenings. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
