Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - any advice?

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. It has been a long 19 weeks. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
