Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - any advice?

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a barista. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I can study evenings. Is there free funding?

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
