Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 8 years as a web developer

A local college offers a course that costs $400. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure whether employers value it.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.

Ask the course provider how many graduates get jobs and where. Honest providers can tell you.
