Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 5 years as an electrician's helper

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. I worked as an electrician's helper before this. I can study evenings. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
