Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 5 years as a production planner

A local college offers a course that costs $1100. It has been a long 4 weeks. I would like to use funding if possible.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
