Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 4 years as a barista

A local college offers a course that costs $900. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am unsure whether employers value it.

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
