Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 3 years as a dental hygienist

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a dental hygienist. It has been weighing on me all week. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
