Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 16 years as a delivery driver

A local college offers a course that costs $1100. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to use funding if possible. Is there free funding?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
