Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 11 years as a call-centre agent

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a call-centre agent. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
