Are certifications worth it while job hunting? after 10 years as a nurse's aide

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a nurse's aide. I am in Cincinnati, in case local advice matters. I would like to use funding if possible. Is there free funding?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
