Are certifications worth it while job hunting?, accounts payable clerk here

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. There are 15 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
