Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - 6 months and counting

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a nurse's aide. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
