Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - 21 weeks in

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a nurse's aide. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am unsure whether employers value it. Did a certificate help you get hired?

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
