Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - 16 weeks in

I saw that many postings ask for a specific certification. It has been a long 16 weeks. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
