Are certifications worth it while job hunting? - 13 months and counting

I am considering a short certificate to improve my chances as a bookkeeper. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I would like to use funding if possible. Which ones are overrated?

Check a dozen job postings first. If most ask for the same certificate, it is probably worth it.
