Are certifications worth it while job hunting?

A local college offers a course that costs $1150. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I would like to use funding if possible. Did a certificate help you get hired?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

The workforce centre told me about training funds I qualified for. It covered most of my course.
