7-month résumé gap, advice?, accountant here

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. Any experience at all would help. I am nervous about being filtered out. What do you say in interviews?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

I was hired after a 7-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
