7-month résumé gap, advice? - 7 months and counting

I have been out of work for 7 months and worry about the gap. Any experience at all would help. I am not sure how much to explain. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 7-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
