5-month résumé gap, advice? - first time posting

I have been out of work for 5 months and worry about the gap. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I am not sure how much to explain. Did anyone get past it?

Keep your skills fresh and mention anything recent. It shows momentum.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
