5-month résumé gap, advice? (Albuquerque)

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am not sure how much to explain. Did anyone get past it?

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

I was hired after a 5-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
